Saturday, June 6, 2009 a new season of Boppin’ on the Basin begins. This first family-friendly performance will begin at 6:00 pm and will be held in the Huron amphitheater. The show’s headliner is an artist whose work will delight young and old alike.
Sarah Goslee Reed is a singer/songwriter who grew up in a musical household. Her father played the bassoon in the Cleveland Orchestra and her mother played the cello and string bass. There was always music, mostly live, coming from the house. The folk music of the sixties was very influential, so she taught herself to play the guitar, based upon her knowledge of the violin, while learning songs by listening to records. Today she delights audiences with her playing and singing. She also has a way of drawing the crowd into the spirit of her music.
Also featuring: Singer/Guitarist Dan Murphy. This free concert is sponsored by the Huron Department of Parks and Recreation, Bottom Dog Press, and Drinian Press, LLC. Be sure to visit the sponsor’s booth to meet local authors and purchase books and CDs.
