City Announces User-friendly Web Site

The City of Huron invites the community to check out its new Web site.

Designed by Pabodie Design Group, this site offers features to promote ease of navigation, information and communication. New features include: User-friendly layout to aid visitors in locating points of interest, communication features that will allow for city news, alerts and newsletters to be sent to subscribers.

While the city has always provided council agendas, approved minutes and adopted legislation, it will now provide complete city council agenda packets, which will contain the current agenda, legislative summary and actual legislation for upcoming council meetings. This council packet will be emailed to all subscribers of city news prior to the meeting. The city will utilize the Alert feature to send emails of an informative nature such as boil alerts, street closures etc.

The City urges all residents to become a subscriber in order to keep informed of these upcoming meetings, alerts and topics of interest. The site will continue to evolve over time as we add or edit certain features based on effectiveness and interest.

Check out the site and subscribe today to www.cityofhuron.org

The city thanks all of those at Pabodie Design Group for their creativity and assistance in designing the new site.

In other news:
The city is still awaiting input from residents. In articles and on the Web site the city had asked for resident input on the topic of non-permanent advertising signage posted in the rights-of-ways throughout the city. As per the current language within the city’s codified ordinances, signage in the right-of-way is prohibited. A recent plea from a local business to allow for the posting of signs within the right-of-way to promote business has opened a discussion on this topic and the city has asked for community input. To date, minimal response from the residential community has been received. The city encourages residents to take an opportunity to share thoughts and opinions on this matter by sending an email or dropping a note in the mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
