The officer and dispatcher of the year awards are given annually to employees who provide the highest quality of police service to the public and promote both the department and cooperation among fellow officers. The recipient of these awards are chosen by a vote of their peers and handed out at an annual department meeting.
The Officer of the Year Award was given to Officer Terry Graham. Graham is a 20-year veteran of the Huron Police Department, serves as a firearms instructor, and is a commander on the Erie County Regional SWAT Team. The Dispatcher of the Year Award was given to Dispatcher Ryan Boesch. Boesch has been with the Huron Police Department since 2007 and also serves as an officer for Huron.
The three recipients of the awards will receive ribbons to be displayed on their uniforms. “It has been a year of transition and change and these three are very deserving of their respective awards,” said Chief Majoy. “I have had the pleasure of working alongside these officers and feel they did a tremendous job in 2009.”
