Sandusky – Chef Ron La Pointe has accepted the position of Chef at Parkvue Place.
Chef Ron has been working in culinary arts for 25 years. He graduated from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas with associates of culinary arts and associates of business management. He is certified as an executive chef through The American Chefs Association.
Chef Ron was born and raised in Michigan. His first real “first job” was cooking at Drouillard’s Restaurant in LaSalle, Michigan. Then he was off to Vegas to get his degree in culinary arts. While in Vegas Chef Ron was the Sous Chef at Planet Hollywood and personally catered parties for Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, Tia Caiera and George Foreman. His last year at Planet Hollywood he was the corporate trainer, opening restaurants in Moscow Russia, Singapore, Melbourne Australia, Vancouver and Edmonton Canada.
Chef Ron currently lives in Toledo with his wife, Kelly, and their dog Kaila. He has earned many awards throughout his career, such as “Most Original Entrée” at Sysco Food Show and “Best New Chef of the Year Award” from the Las Vegas Chefs’ Association. He was also featured in cooking demonstrations for WTOL and thenWilliam Sonoma Store in Toledo. Chef Ron enjoys golfing, tennis and snowmobiling.
