Majoy Announces Candidacy for Erie County Sheriff

Former Huron Police Chief John Majoy has announced his candidacy for the office of Erie County Sheriff.  With over 21 years of law enforcement experience, backed by an impeccable service record and quality education, Majoy brings is seeking the Democratic nomination for the position in the March 6th primary election.

Majoy spend nearly 19 years as a member of the Huron Police Department including 10 years in the position of Sergeant and two years as Chief of Police.  Majoy left the Huron Police Department in 2011 after accepting a severance package offered to him while the city opted to move in a different direction.  Since then Majoy has served as the Program Chair of the Criminal Justice Program for Ivy Bridge College of Tiffin University.

Majoy brings with him a wealth of education to the position including a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Tiffin University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Safety Management from Cleveland State University and he is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Majoy’s campaign, “Friends for John Majoy” will be hosting a fundraiser on Monday, February 13th at the Huron Pizza House where from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. where 50% of all dine-in orders will be contributed to the Majoy Campaign.  The public is invited to attend.

John will also be hosting a meet and greet at Thunderbird Hills Bar North on Thursday, February 9th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Please join the “Friends for John Majoy” campaign and show your support and have any of your questions answered personally at the event.
